Default Qbot or equivalent - input and ideas please

I have been looking at the Qbot set up, pricey though it is, and wondered what the quilting board folk think of it? Good investment, bad idea, are there equivalent alternatives I should consider etc.
I would appreciate some comments please.

I have spent all day researching the QBot and would also like to know what owners/user think about the system. I have all the same questions you have. Hopefully someone will help us out!

I own the qbot, running it on a Viking 18x8 on imperial frame. I also have the 4D quilt design creator software. I feel it is really an awesome set up!! I can do so much with it. You can also do alot with just the qbot without the software. Alot of designs availabe for the qbot alone. I love my setup!!! Other robots out there but much more $$$$ Good luck with what ever you decide. Enjoy!!!

Have no idea about the Qbot, but these folks are great to deal with! http://www.thequiltingsolution.com/sidesaddle.html

Now that mine is up and running, I love my qbot!! I have it on a Next Generation frame and Viking Megaquilter and have the 4D Software. It is a dream and when I have had any problems at all (which have been VERY few) the Yahoo Qbot group has been right there to help me out.

I also have the Qbot and 4D software. I love the system. I joined the Qbot and software clubs on the MyQbot website and they have been great. I have learned sooooo much from them. I also find the Yahoo group really helpful and knowledgeable.

Do you have to do something special to the quilt sandwich to have the Qbot do the work right? Or does it just go like when you are quilting it with your machine? Do you have to watch it for wadding up or anything like that?

I met a lady last month with another brand she bought used and is tickled to death with it, but I can't remember the brand.

Bumping up this topic, hoping for more input from users/owners. I also would like to know from QBot owners where they purchased from, and if you don't mind, how much you paid. Did you get any software included with the QBot? Any info will be helpful to me to make a decision about buying this system or looking at other robotic systems.
