OMG I just stopped into my library for my kids to check out some new books... of course I headed to the quilting section (what else is there?!? LOL). The new June '11 Quilter's World issue just arrived, and was in, so I grabbed it and checked it out for me.

There is a huge story on Quilts of Valor!

If you are not familiar with the program, its like the Quilts for Kids / Project Linus charity quilts for sick kids, only QOV started in 2003 by a quilter who was inspired by her child serving overseas, and made one for a wounded soldier at Walter Reed. Now, 8 years later, our QOV quilts are making it overseas, too, to wounded soldiers & soldiers who are fighting for our freedom.

It's a piece of "home". It means someone cares. These quilts mean the world to our guys and gals serving our country.

I am just so elated, I only skimmed the article, so now I gotta go back and read it over again ... I am a QOV quilter, and proud of it. I am also a blue-star mom, the proud mom of a 22-year old US Marine. Keep those quilts a comin', ladies ~ this program is a very special one.

I'm not in the article, I am just one of the many people who have donated to/quilted for this great program.

I read the article and thought about those on the board who have contributed so many quilts.
