Default Quarter inch foot for Slant Needle Singer 404?

Does anyone know if I can acquire a quarter-inch foot for a Singer 404, slant needle? I did purchase a generic quarter inch foot for my White machine which is a straight shank. I don't care for it because it is just a flat clear plastic foot with one side that measures a quarter inch. I prefer to have the foot with the little metal piece that the fabric follows against. (poor grammar, I know, but it hope you get my gist.) Thanks for reading.

    Gail,
What about the sewing place in Lafayette, I think is called All Brands, it is the shopping center where Big Lots is at, which is also where JoAnns is now...... That is where I got mine for my Brother but I should think there is all kinds. There is also a Singer sewing place on the north side where the old Big Lots used to be. They would probably have it there too. If you come into town let me know, we can meet for lunch.

my gut feeling is there may not be a foot as you describe for the slant needle. However, there may be an adapter for it. Best to contact the Singer company directly for info or search for a yahoo group for the brand.

Yes, there are a couple slant 1/4" feet with guides. I bought mine from Sew Classic for my 301 and 401.

Yes thre is one and you don`t need an adapter.I Goggled online and found a dealer in Stone MT. near Atlanta and got mine for $18.00 plus S+H.You should be able to find 1 near you. Also don`t let someone tell you that the FW foot will work,it doesn`t The 301 and 401 are slant shank and the FW is straight shank.Hope this helps and you find 1.

I also purchase from Jenny at sew-classic.com. I have multiple slant shank machines, including a 404, and purchased different attachments for all of them.
