I keep hearing quilters say use a scant quarter inch. What is a scant quarter inch?

A scant 1/4" is a thread or 2 (depending on the size of thread you are using) to the right of the seam. You make your 1/4" just a tad bit smaller to accommodate your thread.

Search on Scant Quarter Inch and you will find a whole lot of advice.
