    Default Queen size patterns?

I want to make a queen sized quilt for DD and hubby. I found beautiful jelly roll strips with their favorite colors and am trying to find a pattern to use them in. I know it was silly to find the fabric first, but I did...LOL!

Are you planning on using the strips for accent, or the whole quilt? Jelly rolls vary by the number of strips, but if you are planning on using them for the whole quilt, you will probably need 100+. If you let us know which way you are thinking, we can probably direct you better..

Bought 2 full jelly rolls. I'd like to make the whole quilt with them and a background fabric.

The patterns in Kim Brackett’s books can be made with jelly rolls. Take a look at them on Amazon. They might also still be available at Connecting Threads where you’re able to see all the designs. For queen size you might need to figure the extra blocks needed. Most of the ones I’ve made are for smaller sizes.

And of course there are the Missouri Star tutorials

I rarely have anything in mind when I buy fabric. I buy what calls to me!

Same with me, Susie. Usually I can find fabrics for what I want to make. I call it my magic closet.

There are so many designs to choose from even if what you choose is for a twin you can easily adapt it to accommodate the queen size you need. Good luck can't wait to see what you come up with!

I think Jenny from Missouri Quilt Co. has a tutorial on You Tube. Check the 2-1/2" jelly rolls. She uses a lot of them in her tutorials.

You can filter the Missouri Star tutorials to only show the ones made with jelly rolls.
