Batik fabric made from cotton is still cotton. I mix and match with ALL types of fabric and have no problems with it.

You can use batiks alone in your quilt, or mix them with plain or tone on tone fabrics, just use whatever "floats your boat" and what you like - it's your quilt after all.

I don't mix batiks with anything but solids, mostly black because they pop instead of blending in.I like batiks to really pop.

Thanks for asking this question. I recently received a large gift bag of batiks and I was wondering if I could mix them with cottons also?

I just finished a batik/cottons blender fabric...was using up batik scraps, so cut them 2 1/2" squares & used the brown blender cotton with to pop. Quilt & runner...

I tend to use primarily batiks with batiks. However I have used a number of blender fabrics with batiks and been happy with the results. I personally don't think I would like some of my prints mixed with some of the batiks just because they wouldn't go together well (same as certain prints don't really go well with some others).
