Question about board rules?

I am fairly new to this board and enjoy reading the various topics and gaining new knowledge and insight related to quilting. However, in the two months that I have been on this board, I've noticed a few topics that were either locked or removed. In thinking back to those topics, I don't remember any obscene, harassing or overly negative comments...just people posting their thoughts. I looked at the board's term of use and didn't see any rule infractions. So my question is: Why are certain topics removed? Just asking because I would hate to unknowingly post something that is considered inappropriate.

Here is a link to the "Main" rules http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-30553-1.htm
Each section also has additional rules. They get updated occasionally so we all need to reread them from time to time
Topics that get locked or deleted may start out fine and somewhere in the course of discussion they cross the line of acceptable so rather then let it continue to spin out of control we shut the topic down.
