Default Question about doll quilts (minitures)

When you make doll quilts do you still use 1/4" SA?

I am working on a doll quilt and I have my blocks cut
to be finished at 3" and it seems strange to me that my
SA looks so "big" compared to the size of the block.

Yes, use your usual seam allowance.

I use dress weight cotton poplins for doll quilts rather than craft weight cottons. This way the seam is less bulky.

I haven't made "doll" quilts per se, but I have made miniatures. If the blocks are approx. 1" or larger, I leave the seam allowance at 1/4". If the blocks are smaller, then I trim the seam allowance to 1/8" after I stitch the seam. It all depends on if the seam is going to interfere or overlap with another seam.

I am just getting into miniature quilts myself so this was interesting question for me too. Thank you.

I've made doll quilts and minis, and do use a 1/4" seam. Though I do trim some down after sewn to reduce bulk.

You will want to use a quarter inch or a scant quarter inch seam so the seams won't pull apart.
