I have always used B. That has worked for me. I love the pinked edge, as there is less raveling. I do not enjoy cutting off all the threads that have raveled from fabric after piecing the top.

Thanks all. I haven't pinked fabric in such a long time and that was only to finish a seam that couldn't be finished properly. I have measured the fabric, but the measurement was between A ands B, so that was part of thh source of my confusion.

Answer: "B" But with the fabric moving it was hard for me to track. And I measured and found that the size can vary. So I was measuring and trimming every piece which is crazy. I also had trouble seeing the edge but that was before I got my new foot. It might help if you have a quarter inch metal edge to run the fabric along. I'm not a fan of pre-cuts. It must be the frugal in me--I can get more yardage for the price.

Thanks so much for this posted question and the answers. I'm sewing some jelly rolls together tomorrow at a quilt retreat and wondered the same thing. Now I'll know.
