headliner is the 'foam' used as a headliner (roofing) in cars. It comes in beige, grey and black at JAF and runs about $15 per yard (54" wide) regular price. It is a not a fabric so fabric cut coupons can not be used. But, a coupon on regular priced item may be used. It is a bit 'more foamy' than the stabilizer, but should work in most places interchangeably.

If the headliner works and it is cheaper------I'd use that. Bosal is spendy.

I purchased a similar foam made by Pellon at Joann's. My Joann's has it with only one fusible side or both sides fusible. Double sided price was $10.99 but I had a coupon.

The stabilizer is to help with the texture/stiffness required so it doesn't collapse if you want it to stand up while displayed. Who wants a fallen down centerpiece?
This is what I will do also but I also croaked when I looked at the price.
Although I bought all of the supplies for some reason Im being intimidated by this project Guess I need to put my big girl pant### on and just do it. Lol
