I, too, am a fan of scented water for ironing. I get it at Kohls in the bathroom accessories section. The bottle is normally $10 or so, but it frequently goes on sale for 40-60% off, and if you shop there often, they give $5 and $10 like-cash coupons, so I am able to keep a good supply of it for relatively cheap. Would be nice to find a starch alternative...specially when working with black.
I'm making a wall-hanging with black fabric and don't want white patches on it.
You will probably love Flatter spray. It leaves no marks or patches at all on the fabric. I usually don't mention it because of the price. It's much better then Best Press. A bottle lasts me a long time.

Bed bath beyond has the linen spray here, I just bought some a few weeks ago. Every time I've purchased some it has been in a different area of the store

I've also seen scented linen spray in the laundry section of my grocery store.

I either use some lavender essential oil mixed with boiled cooled off water and fill a clean glass spray bottle I use this up and make new as needed. There is also sold hydrosol which is the floral/herbal water left over from the making of essential oils, the fragrant vapour condenses into floral water. Places like www.mountainroseherbs.com sell this in US .
On www.aromaweb.com you can find recipes if want to make a blend of oils, and then to mix into nice ironing water.

Where is the potato in the recipe?

Supposedly in the vodka. But interestingly enough there are very few vodkas on the market still distilled from potato. Some Vodka is still distilled from potatoes but most are now made from some sort of grain. I would be interested to know if those that make a pressing agent out of vodka know if their vodka is grain or potato distilled and if the grain kind works as well. I recall a thread on here some time ago and many reported trying to make it out of vodka and not getting good results. I suspect that may be why.
