Yesterday I made a long drive to the closest Joann's, almost an hour away, and was very disappointed with what they had left in Christmas fabrics. Only a few bolts, nothing really eye-catching, and a very few Debbie Mumm bolts. Since she left South Seas and now designs directly for Joann's I feel the quality of her fabric has gone downhill. It just doesn't "feel" like good fabric. Anyway, I spent ZERO on Christmas fabric, so if you have a chance to get there right away, I'd say do it. I almost had the feeling the "good stuff" had already been put away for next year.
BTW, happy and healthy new year to all of you on this board.

Both Joann's in town had Christmas stuff left last week, but nothing that I was thrilled with enough to buy, even on sale!! I know shipping can be expensive at the on line shops, but I check shipping rates before I start shopping and then I don't waste my time at the places with exhorbanent (sp?) shipping. Many are good about letting you know just how many yards you can get before the shipping rate goes up to the next level. What better way to shop in the winter than with a cup of tea or coffee, my blankie and slippers??  Way better than driving through snow and angry drivers!!..No need to hurry home to get the dogs out either :D

I must be very lucky, cuz my Hancocks still has ooddlleesss left. I will be checking out Joannes on the first when they have the next big sale with 10% off everything and my Walmart was loaded with Christmas fabric ! We had ice storms on Friday and then 60's on Saturday, so I haven't had a chance to get back out to buy more !

Bevanger,
I asked at JoAnns because I thought that they marked down earlier than I remember in years past. They said yes, they did get the OK to mark down early this year and that they normally do not have 60% off Christmas fabrics until after Christmas but so many people were making items for others this year.
A friend told me that this was planned in advance because the company that makes the fliers for the paper do so months if not a year in advance. So who knows, but for whatever reason they have been on sale for a while now. I picked up quite a variety of really pretty pointsettas and a couple others just this past week and used a gift card so it cost me next to nothing. Good luck finding some great stuff.

The Wal-Mart and JoAnn's in my area (outside of Philadelphia) have it's Christmas fabric reduced now. Wal-Mart's was about $1.25 a yard and JoAnn's was 70% off and some were $1.99/yard. Happy shopping!

Bev most quilt stores are having an end of year so we don't have to count inventory sale that runs thru the first week of Jan or something like that. I went to oour local quilt store and they didn't have a lot of Christmas fabric left. Shopping online will probably give you the best selection and price.Someone posted 2 really nice sites the other day and they had quite a variety of fabrics at good price.
