  Why would anyone want a Pfaff without the IDF? To me, that is the selling point! I love my Pfaff 7570, just wish it had an automatic thread cutter!

My bad. It's not IDT but IDF. And, of course, I knew what it meant until you asked me! Sheesh!!

    It's basically a built-in walking foot.

I have a Pfaff with the IDT and just love it. I wouldn't
have any machine but a Pfaff.

My Pfaff hobbmattic 947 (bought it 17 years ago used) does not have the IDT but all my other Pfaffs do have it. My mothers Pfaff bought new in mid 1950's does not have it either. that is the machine I learned to sew on, made all my cloths in jr high and high school, even designed and made my prom dress.

The reason I asked that question was because I am looking at some Pfaff's on Ebay, and I can't tell if they have IDF/IDT (whichever it is) or not. The description doesn't say it and I don't see that arm that comes down behind the needle bar in the pics.

So I was thinking that maybe some of the lower-end models might not have it.

Thanks for all the info...it's sounds like maybe the one I'm looking at doesn't have it if there is the option of not having it.

BTW, on the Pfaff site they call it "IDT"...maybe the "T" stands for "technology"?

I'm going to have to check this out with my Pfaff guy -- or it will drive me crazy. Oops, too late. Already there! :)

You can ask a question of the sellers on ebay. That might help you.
