Default Question about Quilting a QR Code Quilt

I am happy to have finished the top for my QR code quilt, and it actually reads successfully!

Now my question is about quilting and thread color. My quilt is black and off-white with an imbedded image in dark red and a very pale peach. I would prefer to do a diagonal grid, but am concerned about the color of my thread disturbing the readability of the image. I could use gray in the black and white section and a peach color in the red section.

What have been your experiences with quilting thread color on QR code quilts?

    Thanks!

I did not take any chance and I quilted mine the same color as the fabric I used, making sure not to go on the other color fabric.

I am sorry, but that is a very obscure abbreviation. Never heard it used before. I usually chose whatever thread looks best by drizzling the thread on the quilt. A photo always helps us with your question.

Obscure? I wouldn't say so...those things are EVERYWHERE these days. I've even seen them incorporated into tattoos.

There was a QR code quilt at the PQIF done in blues. I scanned it and got the maker's website. I love the idea but don't have a site to make it point to! (Although you can also make them just display text, it doesn't have to be a web link.)

.004 nylon thread by YLI would not interfere with your image. Otherwise, you could try an off-white and see how that works against your image. In many cases, once all the quilting is finished, it doesn't appear to be as noticeable as you might have predicted.

Default Picture of QR Code Quilt in Progress

Here is a picture of the quilt top, quickly taken before pressing was complete. Thanks for your responses so far. I think that a trial of a small amount of quilting and then an attempt to read again is the way I might go before doing all of the quilting. So far I have been impressed with the fact that it hasn't been picky. It reads with threads attached, incomplete pressing, and without being flat (hanging wavy) - not mention less than perfect corner matching in some places!
