great information here - I have washed & dryed cotten batting before but don't think I have ever let it relax before. I am going to have to give this a try and see if I can tell a difference.

I always fluff mine in the dryer. Works great & you don't have to wait

I didn't know about relaxing the batting before use but it makes sense. Good to read all the answers, all good ideas to use from now on. Thanks.

I will keep an eye on this question, and maybe I will change my bad habit.
Try putting it in the dryer first to get the creases/wrinkles out

I let mine lay on the bed like a spread for a day...But I do like all the posts about putting it in the dryer...and also buying by the roll.

I hardly ever use packaged batting but the few times I did, I just threw it in the dryer on low for a few minutes and it worked just fine.

I haven't noticed that big a difference either way. So I don't deliberately do it. I just take it out of the package and lay it over my backing and smooth, smooth, smooth it out with my hands and this seems to work just fine for me.

I LOVE WrinkleRelease. I buy one for me and one for my daughter because she would get mine and when I needed it, I could never find it. But I keep mine hid just in case.
