I live in Fl and always use warm and natural, as mentioned above we use our ac most use ceiling fans as well, so warm and natural is just fine, tough I am considering making for myself a quilt with no batting, just using flannel or muslin on the back, I have a couple of quilt tops I purchased from a board member that I think would make nice summer quilts, I'm going to just tie them. But IMHO you can't go wrong using warm and natural.

I never thought about using flannel sheets. My best buddy that taught me is from Houston, and never puts batting in her quilts. I do because I have family in NJ, NY and MD

Another Arizona gal...I always use warm and natural, but we never actually sleep under the quilt, just fold it back at night.

You would have to live in the humid South to know why we never turn off our A/C, lol. I live in southeast Texas where we have very little winter. Our quilts are out all year and I use warm n natural. I also make raggy quilts with 3 layers, normally 2 of cotton & 1 of flannel.

I have switched to Hobbs polydown batting after seeing how beautiful Charismah quilts with it. I love it . It makes a lighter weight fluffier quilt. However, they say it's very warm in the winter. It makes it very cuddly.

I woke up this morning to 59 degrees in my bedroom - and that's with no AC. You betcha I use quilts with batting!

Us too. Although lately I've been having to pick the quilt up from the floor. A flannel sheet would work just fine for a light weight summer throw.

cotton...remember cotton breathes, so cool or warm it helps your body adjust to the temps around it...
when in doubt though we do "summer" quilts with cotton flannel for the batting..that works well too!

Warm & Natural from Louisiana. (It is 100 degrees outside today.) Don't sweat it. 8-)

Using 100% cotton is best - natural fibers like cotton, silk and wool breathe while polyester does not. Anyone who has been to Hawaii or Florida in the summer and worn polyester can attest to this fact. ;)
