Question: Featured Quilter help needed
Do you (or your guild) have info on being a Featured Quilter at a local quilt show?
My guild does not have any write up / suggestions / criteria for the featured quilter, and I'd like to see what other groups do.
I was chosen to be our guild's Featured Quilter for our April 2023 show. I'm super excited and super over-thinking.
But, that's how I roll.
So, this info will be for me personally, and will likely be used to formulate a info folder for our guild as well.
thanks!

Here is a write up that I found interesting. https://www.quiltguildindy.net/2022-featured-quilter
Another couple of write-ups about the featured quilter. https://wsqspokane.org/quilt-show/featured-quilter/

I am not with a guild, but when I have been to shows and anyone was featured, it was mostly a wide variety from very small to larger projects done by the featured artist. It would be neat to see a history from one of your first projects to your last to see how your quilting and piecing has improved. People who are thinking about making the first step into quilting could appreciate that.

Hello & welcome to the quilting board.
Congratulations for being asked to be the Featured Quilter. I really like Barb's idea of a first project compared to a current one. I think it would be a great encouragement to new quilters who are just getting started.
You might get more information by doing a web search on "featured quilters" to help you.

Thanks for the encouragement! 😁
I did try Google searching, but was not able to find info about what it is to BE the featured quilter. Lots of posts ABOUT a specific quilter, but nothing that outlines tasks or guidelines. 🤷♀️

Have you asked the guild what is going to be expected of you? How many pieces of work they want to display? Do they want comprehensive write ups on them? Or you? Will you be expected to appear at any point to talk to people or answer questions? Its probably a bit different for each guild so I'd ask them what they want.
