    When I quilt on my domestic machine and have minky as the backing, I use a stretch needle (like used for knits). The point of the needle is rounder compared to the sharp point of my quilting or microtex needle I typically use for quiltingwith cotton backing. I use embroidery weight thread. I do however have batting in my quilt sandwich. I wish you a speedy solution.

    I have mine set on auto so it picks it's own speed I don't know if I can slow it but will check. My problem was the nap pulling up from the bottom and I think I have found a solution so thanks for all of your help on this wonderful board!
