I've done several tube quilts and they turn out really nice. I followed the directions in Missouri Quilt Co. tutorials and I cut two 2 1/2 inch strips. When I cut the wide strip 4 1/4 inches, as instructed in the tutorial, it wasn't wide enough. I knew that the 4 1/4 inches wasn't wide enough because two 2 1/2 inch strips when sewed together with a 1/4 seam gives you 4 1/2 inches, but I followed the directions they gave. I found that I should have followed my instincts. So now when I make tube quilts I cut two 2 1/2 inch strips and one 4 1/2 inch strip.

Yes, check out the tutorials the others have mentioned. Tube quilting is fast, fun and yields great results.
