I like the look of quilting around the applique....it makes it pop, but I've seen appliques quilted and they look good too. I'd say it's a personal preference.

I usually quilt around it though there have been some impressive results from people who have quilted over it. I guess it is your preference that counts!

I know what everyone is saying. Thanks I have not seen it done over the applique so I was just wondering. It seems to me that the more intriquite (sp) detailed the applique is the more I would not want to quilt over it. Maybe a plan applique I might try to go over. Thanks everyone.
