Question: Where or how to I find 9 1/2" block patterns?
#1
My small quilting group met today & decided to begin a new project for
2011 making a 9 1/2" block each month to trade.
Where or how to I find patterns to make 9 1/2" blocks? Most I find are
10" or 12 1/2" blocks. Help please.

Have you tried the quilters cache?
or equilter(not sure if that is wuite right)
Many of the older patterns are that size--I know I have quite a few, but not sure when I might have time to hunt them out.....
Also, there are software programs that will convert them as well....
You are wanting 9" finished size, right?

I am guessing that the group really means blocks that will finish up 9" square, which are 9 1/2" with seam allowances.
Any block that is based on a nine-patch will be easy to make into a 9" block.
Another sneaky trick is to buy a pad of 6 squares to the inch graph paper. Copy any 6" block onto the graph paper, then enlarge it to 4 squares to the inch graph paper (counting the squares to locate the lines) and you have a 9" block. If this is too mathematical for you, share it with your group and maybe someone else can do it.
Good luck!

Blocks are in alpha listing and in size listings. You name it, you can probably find it here.
9-1/2"inch blocks will be listed under 9" finished.

YES, the finished size will be 9".
What we will be doing is making a seasonal block each month;
i.e., January, snowman/snowflakes, February, Valentines,
etc.
So I have to come up with something new each month!
I am not too experienced at this, so just see a pattern & if
I like it I make.
Thanks.
