I'm 62 but I recently heard that old age doesn't start until 72! I've still got 10 years left of "middle age"!! So tell your husband we're not old ladies yet.

    60. I've been quilting about 8 - 9 years. I started sewing when I was about 15. Made a lot of my own clothes, because I'm very tall. Didn't do much sewing in my 30's and 40's. I dragged my Singer Genie out about 10 years ago to make some skirts for myself & my husband said it was awfully noisy and maybe I should get a new machine. Shortly after that, I discovered quilting. He blames himself for my addiction:) Sewing has always been a constant in my life, just taken a different turn now. Quilting is not very forgiving, whereas when you are sewing yourself a skirt or pants or whatever, if your seam is not exactly 5/8's, it usually doesn't make much of a difference in the finished garment.

I'm 27, and I starting quilting when I was 22. My sister got me into it. She's almost 29 now, and started at 22 as well.
