I have used a 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby and a 50% off at Hancocks for wide backing. They have basic colors.

Hancocks of Paducah has some on sale right now. Basically the price of regular width fabric. http://www.hancocks-paducah.com/SALE...g-Sale-Fabrics

I usually get mine there, especially when on sale. Also consider wide muslin too.

You can also buy wide muslin at WalMart, up to 120".....I like muslin as it goes with everything!

I agree ...I use both Fabric.com and Thousands of bolts. I did get one inexpensive backing at Fabric .com that was a bit thin.

I always piece my backings from my stash. I sometimes look at some of the modern quilts for inspiration on how to piece them. It uses up some of my stash and looks really nice. This way I can buy more fabric as backs use up quit a bit of fabric:-)

Check out Hobby Lobby. They have a nice quality of wide backing that feels great and you can use your 40% off coupon. I prefer matching a backing with the quilt top.

I found it at Fabric.com so thanks to all of you for your suggestions. I made this quilt using Poems for Pebbles layer cakes and they had the backing to match one of the squares. It's going to look great!

I have bought from Ann's Fabric and Crafts. It's in New Hampshire. She had very good prices as I remember.
