Well, Ginaky, with the lush green background in which the blocks and quilts are placed, it is such a beautiful scene, I know our Lord smiles. Give them my thanks. Ruth

There are many barn quilts in Illinois, too.

We have 3 or 4 quilt blocks in our town, at the musuem and court house, but I have an idea, every quilter from coast to coast have a quilt block next to their front door! It will mean "quilter lives here"

Ooooh, aren't you clever! Maybe the "rural" gals/guys should be thinking about a smaller version for our mailboxes...some of us are so far off the roads that our houses aren't visible.

We have those in Iowa also. Check out this site. They have pictures of each one. http://www.barnquilts.com/default.htm

I saw an article about the same idea in an area of Tennessee called, "Follow the Quilt Trail". They have maps for tourists to follow. (if I remember correctly)

If you google barn quilts you will find all kinds of info. Almost every state that has them has a website with maps. I remember the story way back when of the woman in Ohio who did the first one in honor of her mother, a quilter. The idea really spread. Shows how much quilts are loved for the art form all over the country.
