quilt design ideas for a newbie
#2
a meander would look fine... thread color will make a difference. Not sure what I'd choose for this. perhaps a varigated thread in the main colors of the quit? I"m not the best quilter yet, either. figuring out how to quilt a top is my weak point.

Absolutely thumbs up on a meander. As for the color, I would use a variegated thread. Either tans or one with many of the colors in the quilt. After all - if the fabric works well together, then the thread should too. Pretty quilt btw.

Thanks everyone! I like the idea of meander. I'll probably choose a thread color to match the back. I don't want it to show too much.
Now what color back? I like just about all the colors in the quilt. When I started I liked the gold and wine colors but today my favorite is the coral and the teal blue-green

beautiful quilt
I would use Bottom Line pale grey which won't show. Large meandering stitch is good; small will give you a stiff quilt, little drape.
That's a busy quilt already; I don't think adding more colour in thread will enhance it, quite the contrary.
