A year ago on a bustrip we toured some of the quilt gardens, it was early September, the one I remember most and I hope I remember right, was a garden by ponds, here and there on the property, there were large painted cows, pretty. All of the gardens were beautiful and I would do it again. One thing I do remember we stopped at one, there was a museum and this town hosted an apple festival, but because of the killing frost, they would have had to import their apples, as the crop was so poor. Long and short of it, was a nice tour and our guide was very good and had fabulous knowledge of the Amish. If you have a chance go and see them on one of the tours, well worth it!

I'm sorry I haven't been to that one, but in Shipshewana, Ind. they had a few and although they were pretty, it is very hard to see an actual quilt block pattern because you can't look down on them, you are only looking across the large space at lovely flowers. This is a picture I took to give you an idea of what I mean.
