Default Quilt ideas for focus fabric

I have purchased a fabric with black background and flaming lime-yellow softballs to make a quilt for my granddaughter. I have thought of using the Warm Wishes pattern but I'm not sure it would showcase the fabric very well. Guess I need a pattern with a large block for the focus fabric. Any ideas?

There is a pattern called "Just Can't Cut It" which uses 12.5" blocks of your focus fabric, plus 5 coordinating fabrics. It goes together really quickly.

Any of the BQ patterns would work well.

What is the size of the print on your focus fabric? That would determine the block size for me.

For myself, I'm fond of Disappearing 9-patch with the focus fabric the main square and one or two coordinating fabrics for the center squares which get sliced (depending on the pattern you want to develop with the coordinating fabrics (i.e. pinwheel, lines, etc)). The pattern can be done in a variety of sizes, depending on the print.

Show us your fabric and we can help you find something that might work.

The Big EZ from Bloom Creek is a good fabric-showcasing pattern. I bought mine from quiltpatchlane.com.

Turning Twenty Around the block requires a focus fabric. The "blocks are cut 8 1/2 X 10 1/2 inches which would be great for your fabric of choice.

I really like the BQ patterns for large print focus fabric or fabric I don't want to cut up too small. I also like Venetian Dreams. Looking forward to seeing pics of your quilt.

What would be the block size to frame the softball?
