Quilt Ideas
I have 2 new (almost) great-grandkids. One of each. The boy wants to be a COP the same as both his parents so that quilt is set--Police things. The girl is just born about 2 months (not quite) ago. I have the pictures that I am thinking of doing for a baby/crib size quilt. Need ideas on the background fabrics. Miss Bunny is 100% cotton but what colors/print/plain Quilted/tied It will be a front/back quilt as this is both pieces of Miss Bunny.
I know it will be machine stitched to the fabric and then have a mock applique in baby pink floss BUT the finishing???
Thanks ladies and gents for your ideas on this. They will be for Christmas as I have received a Major list from big brother for his baby sister because she is too small to write her own Christmas list and he thought I'd better have a head start. He did not ask for one thing for himself but he's taken care of with the COP quilt.

I like Pinwheels, especially for young children. I don't know how large your bunny is, but you could applique it to a background fabric, that was cut however large you'd like and surround the bunny 'panel', with Pinwheels in the colors used in the bunny. This idea is just what I immediately thought of. If I give it further thought, I'll let you know. Congratulations on your new additions to the family!
This is a Queen size Pinwheel I did one of my grandaughters for her first birthday. Yes, I know Queen is large for a little one but her mom wanted her to 'grow up' with her quilt. She is nine now and it's still on her trundle bed. The bed is high off the floor and fits like a bedspread to the floor on both sides and ends.

Miss Bunny is 21 x 13 inches. She came to me pre-cut but not sewn so I am able to have her for a front/back quilt. I like the idea of the pinwheels. I'm going to go with the bigger quilt, I think. She would be able to keep it for several years if it was a bit larger and I like her having it on her "grown-up bed".
