I had never used a quilt kit before. Then last year I won one as a prize. I have to admit, I kind of liked it. I am wondering .... where do you guys think the best place is to buy a kit on line. I saw some on Amazon, but it doesn't say what brand of fabric it is so I am a little scared

any thoughts?

Connecting threads, Keepsake quilting, and Missouri Star Quilting Co., local quilt shops all have kits; Crafty has them and Pinerest,(?) too. I like equilter.com, Fons and Porter, Ladybug.com, all have beautiful kits and fabric. Too many places to mention them all. Have fun looking for what you want.

Many times at the end of each season they have kits discounted or on clearance. I always chech sale and clearance sections when I visit a site.

I've gotten several kits on Amazon and the fabric is good quality. Craftsy has some nice kits too. I'm making one of those right now that uses Japanese Boundless solid fabric. It's nice quality, similar to Moda Bella solids.

I have bought a lot of quilt kits over many years and my favorite place is Hancock's of Paducah. Right now they have over 400 kits. I even drove 6 hours just to visit their shop and it was so worth it.

I bought my first kit from Craftsy recently because they had a good sale. Fabric was good quality, generous in quantity, downloadable pattern was clear, and in general I was pleasantly surprised.

Craftsy has kits and quite a lot of sales. I've even purchased some of their kits on sale to get the fabric in the kit. The best deal -- a few years back I purchased a kit that had 8 yards of Kona Cotton fabric at $2.70 per yard. 6 yards was Kona Snow White -- what a deal!!! I've used the Snow in 2 quilts so far.

I've purchased other kits from Craftsy and have been happy with them.

I purchased a Jenny Beyer kit from her site and although it wasn't a "deal" it turned out wonderful. She has a way with color that I can't attempt to match. Their cuts were generous and their help desk was very helpful.

Jordan Fabrics is my favorite site for precuts. I've made log cabin quilts, rail fence quilts, etc. The fabrics are perfectly cut and of known quality (Moda, Kauffman...). There are also WONDERFUL videos on how to make the various kits offered. The prices are great; ;you simply cannot go wrong with kits from Jordan Fabrics!

I used to never buy kits, but then I got into a real quilting slump and decided a kit would get me going again. Mistake! Before I knew it I had a bunch of kits. I finally realized that when I looked at a picture of a quilt kit, my mind was thinking "I want that quilt" and completely skipping over the part where I had to actually do some sewing to get it.

Shabby Fabrics also has kits.
Be careful though- I got a kit from Craftsy that was missing 10 fabrics, as soon as I realized it I let them know and they sent me a new kit. Just check when you get it.
