The one that sleeps 10 I just saw in a newsletter from Quilters Quarters in western NC.... I have asked for info but hadn't heard anything yet so don't know awhole lot about it yet,but anything in the mountains of NC is good to me!!!!... ck out www.quiltersquartersnc.com for their site... there is another one in the Maggie Valley area that is run by a mother/daughter, one of them works for Moda, they have this one set up with almost everything you would need to sew, except your machine & fabric!!, they have cutting boards/tools, rulers, irons/iron surfaces, all kinds of things... course I can't remember that name but I think if you look up quilt retreats in NC it comes up, this one sleeps six........... the first one did say that if you wanted a class taught that could be arranged by their shop.. either to me would be great....

I'm in Wichita, a 7hr drive to Ashdown, but I'd love to come. Looks like you are close to Texarkana?

Cedar Chest Quilt Shoppe in El Campo is hosting a quilt retreat from July 18th to the 20th in Wharton. You can check out their website at www.cedarchestquiltshoppe.com for more information. The owner told me late Friday afternoon that she has 1 to 2 openings left.

I hope that is not too far from Houston for you.

Then we could perhaps get a list of all attending from our different areas and make arrangements to travel together and save on fuel costs. It would take a lot of planning but you could count me in.
    that is a great idea

I used to live in Wichita (McConnell AFB) in the 80's. Made some wonderful friends - one of whom is co-owner of Material Girls Quilt Shop in Wichita (Jan). Love Wichita! PM me if you want and we will see if we know any of the same people.

There is one the week of Columbus Day in Ripley WV
Annual affair with over 300 attending but enough teachers to have reasonably sized classes. [/quote]

Can you give a link for this, as the retreat center doesn't have specifics about the quilters' retreat. I am very interested in attending this one. Thanks
