I use to do the floor thing too, but I have degenerative disc disease in my lower back and osteoarthritis in my knees.[fallen apart] so my hubby went out and bought 8 -4 ft. folding tables at k-marts.They have 4 adjustable heights and are great. In our last house we rented I could get all 8 up in the family room but in our new house I can us 6 easily in our living room. We always use our big family room for everything else.

I use two 2ft by 6 ft utility tables. My husband creatively thought of using PVC tubing to raise the table height and to my needs. I can hardly bend at all with my arthritis and it is hard to do much that isn't at my height.

MOst quilt stores or libraries will let you use their tables if you call ahead.

That's how I do it. I center ist on the table ,use binder clips to hold in place, pin, then shiftover and repeat the process. Works well for me and keeps me from kneeling on the floor. (bad knees)

Sometimes if you call your LQS they will let you use their tables.

Go to Sharon Schamber's website and take a look at how she does it. It's brilliant and no more crawling around on the floor.

This site demonstrates spray basting a quilt on a wall!! Looks interesting.
