I think you would be doing the shop owner a disservice if you don't bring it to their attention, that way they could inform their staff to be more diligent in looking out for this kind of problem.

Thank you Eddie for all the good work you do.

I'm sure the shop owner would be grateful to have the feedback so that if there is a problem with how the staff are preapring fat quarters it can be nipped in the bud also if it is a manufacturing issue she wouyld be able to let them know-as you said in this day and age who can afford to lose customers especially ones like us who usually spend tons of money at a good quilt shop-

I would definitely let the shop know about it.

I often buy the end of rolls and sometimes they notice flaws and tell me so I can decide if I want it or not. if I do still want it they take into consideration how big a flaw it has and reduce the cost accordingly.
but when you buy it ready cut and folded you expect to get what you pay for, take it back and hope she wants to keep a good reputation

Of course you should let the shop know. No reliable business would want to knowingly sell inferior merchandise.

I agree with those who say tell the shop. The LQS owners I know really value feedback that helps them improve...

Yes, I think you should tell them....especially if you really, really like them....it is in their best interest to make it right.

I would bring it to the owner's attention. I'm sure she would want to replace it.

Yes. By all means, tell the owner about it. She/he would want and need to know.

I would take it back. Not only is the quality substandard, it also has the potential to effect the reputation of the quilt shop. I feel you are doing them a favor by making them aware of what is going out the door. Good luck!
