I will be flying into Buffalo on May 10 and will be in Rochester through that weekend (a convention for my other hobby, miniatures) and then to Niagara Falls for 6 days.

Would appreciate it if quilters in the area could recommend shops that I should visit.

You're welcome to come visit us! Being a mostly online business, we have limited hours: 9 - 5 weekdays. We're about 20 minutes south of Buffalo, right off rt. 219, about an hour south of Niagara Falls.

You should definitely visit Favorite Fabrics!

Not too far from her is the Quilt Farm in Colden - it's in an old barn.

In East Aurora, there are two great shops - Carriage Quilt Shop and Aurora Sewing center.

Pine Grove Quilt Shop on Delaware Ave is nice too.

There are other shops but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

The Quilt Farm has the most lovely view out of their back windows. I haven't been there in quite a while... but it's such a lovely, scenic place. (sigh) We don't have much of a view here, at all.

    In the Rochester area:

    Paticia's Fabric House: http://www.patriciasfabrichouse.com/

    Betty's Quilting Etc: http://bettysquiltingetc.com/

    Jackie Lynns Fabrics: http://www.discountsewingcenter.com/

I have shopped at all of these and like them.

Patricias site has some coupons you can print off and use in May.

If I could only visit two shops while in the area , they would be Favorite fabrics, And the Quilt Farm in that order.
When ever I go "back home" this is on my list of Must visits.
A few notes : yes the directions for both places ... you will probably think you are lost at some point. Favorite Fabrics when you get to the address call , as the building is not so apparent.
The quilt farm is really in a barn ( the entire barn has been converted to a shop) , but you will be out in the farm lands thinking .... this can't be right... but it is.
On my last visit to both , Favorite Fabrics had much better pricing. So they are my stop at first place.
