I have a whole day to spend in Ft. L on the 25th of April. Probably gonna rent a car. Soooo, any good shops I need to hit, sight seeing I MUST do? Don't want to waste my time just sitting @ the hotel waiting for my early flight out on the 26th. Would LOVE to drive to the KEYS but don't know how far that is??? Any suggestions would be welcome. Haven't been to FT L since high school Grad and that was a few years ago (lol) and well, involved, well, ummm-staying up all night partying and sleeping @ the pool most of the day... like 45 years ago. Thanks in advance!!! btq

It's been so long since I lived there I know I wouldn't recognize the place. And I didn't quilt back then, sorry I can't help you. Enjoy your trip~

Spring break was very popular ~ Ft. Laud beach. I misunderstood, I thought you went to H.S. there. I don't think that you will have enough time for the Keys.

In any case, be safe and have fun.

Try mapquest to see how far it is for the keys ... I just did to Miami and it was only 30 minutes away . I tried typing in "the keys" fl and that didn't work  Have a GREAT time ! Also google quilt store for ft. lauderdale and see what pops up

Too bad you aren't going to be there on the 23rd, I'll be coming in the day before our cruise ship leaves. It would be nice to meet you!!

Our ship gets back on Sunday the 25th. Would be fun to meet a fellow quilter and "boarder". Are you "coming" or "going" on cruise????

    Hi,

    I live in Hollywood,Florida.
You have Sunshine Sewing in Margate..Fay and Richard Nicole are the owners. Fay was just featured in AQS magazine for her patterns.
Then you have Country Stitches in Coral Springs...Jamie,the owner is wonderful.

There are cple shops in West Palm Bch.

I just noticed that the 25th is a Sunday. Both shops are closed.

Is your ship sailing out of Ft L or Miami port?
    Have fun
