Default Quilt shops in Los Angeles area?

Hello dear quilters! A friend is traveling to LA in October and was asking about shops in the area...I said there's no better place than the Quilting Board to find out! (She doesn't do much online, poor thing) (I'll tell her I said that if I want her to know...tee hee....) SO, quilt shops in LA? Thanks for helping!!

Not in LA but close to Disneyland. I try to go there whenever I visit my daughter. I always check out the flat folds for backings. $2.98/yard unless the price has changed since I was last there.

M&L is where I was going to suggest also. I've never been there, but have heard a lot about the super prices. My impression is that it's more of a fabric store than a quilt shop, the difference being that a true quilt shop offers classes and has lots of quilts on display.

You really won't find many in LA because in LA city (which is the tiny center portion) is the fabric district. Great deals in small shops but it can be intimidating and a bit scary for outsiders. There is also a smaller fabric district in Long Beach, but it caters more to the bridal and prom folks. There are several great fabric shops heading south in Orange County, a few over the hill in the valley and several specialty shops in ventura county. I believe there are still a few in the inland section of LA County, but most on the westside have not survived. My suggestion is to google fabric shops LA County, Orange County - BUT - call to make sure they are still in business.

What about Quilt In A Day shop. I went there when we were near the LA area and enjoyed it very much. It may be a drive but depends on if she has a car.

Quilt in a day is fun but not in LA … but if you can get out of LA I highly recommend FAT QUARTERS … totally awesome store!

Quilt in a Day is closer to San Diego but if one has a car and is able to do some traveling it should be fun
