I wish I could go Friday. I have to work so a couple of friends and I are going Saturday. we try to get there when it opens and take lots and lots of pictures. they have some beautiful quilts and in the past most of them have been Bed size.
the shows in Nashville and Knoxville were disappointments in the last few years to me because it felt like everything was wall size or less and those were maily challenge "quilts".
just my humble opinion.

Mickey and Myrna---did you make it to the show??? I thought the quilts were great, but the vendor area was too small and too crowded. The only thing I bought was a basket.
I forgot my camera, but my SIL took a lot of pics for me. Are either of your going to post pictures?

hi marcia
i did get there and i will post pictures, left my camera at home this morning- will try to post them this afternoon.
will probably have to have help to get them posted but i will try
actually they had fewer vendors this year than in the past. and yes they were crowded.
i bought a couple of paper piecing patterns, a book on miniatures, couple of fat quarters and a ruler for hunters star.
but i mostly took pictures.
btw how did you like the quilt with 20,000 beads?

Yes Marcia, I went on Sunday afternoon. It was not really very crowded then which was nice as my friend and I were able to enjoy each booth. I also bought a small paper piecing pattern in hopes of trying it out. What I should have bought was the book Paper Piecing 101 as the pattern is not much help if you don't know what you are doing. But she will be in Houston so I will get the book then. She had this awesome magnolia paper piece pattern I just loved so when I get the book I am gonna get that pattern for it as well. I also bought a few fat quarters for my purple quilt I will make some day. And I bought a pack of the Shades Soft Fuse for applique and 2 of the kits they had there. One had dolphins so I just HAD to buy that one.
I really enjoyed seeing the quilts, as I did not get to see any of the quilts at the last Houston show I went to. Just ran out of time. There is SO much to see there.
Oh and yes we did see the Dragon quilt with all the crystals. Was fun to watch everyone see the front side and then see the back side with all the crystals. It was made by the lady who owns Red Hen in Marietta. And although it is very pretty it is just not my cup of tea so to speak.
Sorry I did not make it on Friday Marcia, had something I needed to do at the last minute.
I forgot my camera, well actually thats not true, I can"t FIND my camera, it is somewhere in my mess of stuff. But I promise I will find it before Houston and I won't forget it. I will take lots of pictures and post them.
