    Default Quilt stores-MI

    Ladies,
We're going to the Detroit area of MI. Are there any quilt stores in that area? If so please let me know as I'd love to visit other shops.

    TIA-

In the city, or one of the suburbs? the Detroit metro area is pretty spread out so a bit more info would be helpful...

The one I know of is Monarch Quilts in Brighton
I've heard of The Material Girls shop in Dearborn, but I've never been to it.
There are several others that come up when you google, but I'm not familiar with them. Hopefully someone from the west side will comment.

Creative quilt kits in Brighton, it started out as a on line store then opened for regular business, one of the best stores around in my opinion. They have expanded a couple of time to make room for lots of great fabrics. It is a ways from Dearborn but well worth the drive. And no..I don't own it, only know one of the owners by her first name only!!

I visited Michigan last May for couple of days and went to the material girls shop and bought all fabrics for a quilt and they were beautiful and the owner is super nice. I spent good time there and I bought even some more over the phone after I went back to California.

SUPER!! Thanks so very much. I was hoping you ladies could help. The area we are going to is very depressed and I was concerned that there wouldn't be any place to shop!

We have family in MI and the last time I was there, I visited my sister-in-law near Tawas. If you're going up M-23 on your way to the middle of the state, there's a wonderful shop she took me that's very nice and worth going to. Here's the link to their website.
