Going to London next Sunday, September 9th for a weeks stay and am looking for a shop or two to buy supplies for quilting. I've been browsing the internet but, the shops I find are all either outside London or in the outskirt of London. Don't women living in London not quilt ar all ??
I know I can order on the internet and in fact do order various things quite often but, I would love to find a quilt supply shop in London to visit and shop.
I'm a senior with a ruined knee (waiting for an artificial one), we will not bring a car with us nor rent one so tube or taxi are our options. We will stay at a hotel on Kringthsbrideg not far from Harrods.
There are of course quilt supply shops in Iceland, but you who love quilting do understand that when abroad a visit to a quilt shop is "a must"...

    regards, Gudrun in Iceland

I would think there are shops there. ...could look up Jenny Rayment on the net and see where she shops...She is the one that "twiddles and twists" the fabric block. Also look up Knightsbridge and see if any info there. Would be interesting to know what you do find. :D That close to Harrods, if not even in, you should find something.

I went to London. spent a whole week there looking for the shops didn't find a one! They are on the outskirts somewhere, and are very hard to get to .
So, on we went, to scotland, same thing we were in a b&b so we planned our day around finding this one shop. Hubby was all for it because of what happened in London. well 3 hours later $100 cab fare, they longer exsited.
The cabbie felt bad and said he would take us to a shop he knew of on the other side of the castle. Fine we did it and told him to just leave us. It was like a JoAnn's! They had such a small selection of cottons.
I was on a mission, so I thought I'd better get something. I bought 1 meter of fabric(everything they had I could get here) it cost 10pounds which came to $22. for the meter. The cab left us and we ended up walking to the main part of town. All uphill ! everything there was up hill!
LOng story short , go enjoy everthing else there and do your fabric shopping at our quilt shops. They must keep them a secret. Donna
