I love peace signs, my grown kids love peace signs, their kids love peace signs. If you use the peace signs, then get groovy with it and go with a wild and crazy pattern. As for other patterns, try something on the contemporary side. I recently did a "Log Cabin Pyramid" quilt for an 8 year old and it was just the thing for her. http://www.ladyharvatine.com/2013/04...cing-main.html I've also done a contemporary quilt that looked like the row of zipper teeth. (Sorry, I can't remember the name.) Just remember that many times, contemporary quilts are not as easy-peasy as they might look. The devil's in the details, which will show up on a simple, clean design.

I was just over at the 10 Minute Block thread and I got to thinking that this would be a fabulous pattern for a teen gift. You could do it in solids, with a single color background and it would look very contemporary and hip! It would go lightning fast too!
