I like the suggestions for a thin white inner boarder and a dark red or green outer boarder and binding. The top is really pretty.

Could you be 'tucking it away' because you aren't excited about the finishing you are planning? I find this is my problem when I can't get back to a project. Maybe think of a different border. Audition different colors for borders - maybe a green or even a blue. Let it sit out for a couple days and every time you walk in the room see if it clicks for you. Just because it is a christmas quilt and there is a bunch of red in it, doesn't mean you need to use red.
