I sewed around before I turned them, but you didn't do it after as well? Also, can I tack the center if it is gapping a little? My second set of corners turned out better, but I see I need practice there. These are kind of FUN. Thanks for the pattern. I will try to get pics for you.

    Randy,
Thank you for the download. I had the hardest time understanding until I downloaded the file and enlarged the pictures. I think this old brain has it figured out now. Time left to run make a couple for my niece and sister-in-law. Won't they be surprised!
    Thanks again,
    Yvonne

    Hello,
    It's me again,
I just whipped up one fantastic hot pad! Wow! That is a wonderful pattern. Quick, easy and cute when you finish.
    I love projects like this.

    Hi Norah!
Tack away if the center gaps a bit. I'm pretty sure some hot pan won't mind at all. These are very easy and quick, aren't they?

    Merry Christmas to all!

    Hi Yvonne:
I'm so sorry you had trouble trying to figure out my directions...it's hard for me to read and do...I do better with SEE and do so I'm glad the download helped you out and made the directions clearer.

    Have a great Christmas!

    I have discoverd I am a visual learner! :o))

My sister and I have an ongoing joke about, "Oh, there are words to read too!" We like the pictures obviously but the words are a big help too.

I made a bunch of trivits that can be enlarged to make a potholder. The trivit was based upon a 9 patch-pattern. Inside I got some heat resistent material for the batting.

Once I find my pattern I will let you know the dimensions...this is where I always get into trouble. :(

Ok, I'm back and the place is messier but I found it. Each square is 3 1/2.

    Strip piecing: 3 strips of 3 1/2 from fabric 1 and 2
3 strips 3 1/2 inches of a solid coordinating fabric

strip set 1 use fabric 1, sew solid fabric along the long edge, sew fabric 2 along the long edge of the solid.

strip set 2 use a solid strip, sew a strip 1 toe the long edge, sew another solid to the long edge.

Use rotary cutter to cut these into 3 1/2 segments.

    colour 1 @
    colour 2 #
    solid X

    piece together
    @ X #
    X @X
    # X @
