I am looking for a very, very easy pattern to try my hand at making a quilted purse. Would welcome any ideas, patterns, etc.

Try the bow tucks purse, many, many on the board have made this one and they are easy. Just google Bow tucks Purse pattern and many sites to order will come up. Or check with your local sewing/crafts stores.

This purse does not fit your requirement for being easy, but it's beautiful and distinctive. It's an original pattern that can be ordered from www.hopscotchquiltshop.com which is the tiny town of Coaldale, Alberta.

    Evening Mist Bag - #17
This distinctive bag includes the techniques of curved piecing using freezer paper, needle turn circle appliqué and creating a uniquely curved bag bottom. 16" x 17" (not including handles)

$11.50 U.S. No Sales Tax outside Canada.

My favorite is the Bow Tucks tote but my next favorite is the Lazy Girl patterns, they teach you very easy techniques to make a purse and she has gobs of patterns.
