Recently there has been a lot of talk about Fons and Porter and if they are still together. I just got an invite by mail to become a charter member of Quilters Club Of America. You get all so of discounts and stuff but most important is that you get all the best quilting shows on QNNtv.com. Fons and Porter are the co-presidents so maybe they are dividing their time since there is probably a contract on their regular show. I am going to join.

This was started about 3 years ago, I signed up for the first year and then let my membership lapse. There is a lot of good info there and videos, but I could find just as much for free online

Liz has retired, and you only see her on the old advertising...

They still have their PBS quilting show, but Liz has retired and it is just Marianne and her daughter on it now :D:D:D

This club may have been around for awhile but I have never heard of it before. If I can get over 700.00 in fabric and coupons plus the magazines that is. More than worth the 25.00 a year. I for one have never see any of Patrick Loses shows and since he. Has a new one every month that's worth the price. Plus a lot of the coupons and discounts are at Jo Anns and from reading the board I know that there are a lot of quilters who shop there because they have no local LQS and because they like the fabric. Porter may be retired, I don't know, but she is still on the board and has a say on their joint ventures. I can even get discounts on sewing machines and sergers. Please dony rain on my excitement cause I don't get a lot of good.

I joined this about 5 months ago. I joined solely because I was unable to find Easy Quilts magazine anywhere else. You receive 4 issues a year. To me, being able to get QNNtv.com, Easy Quilts Magazine, coupon link for discounts for signing up, so many things I've used over and over again. I think it's a good deal.

Don't be upset - everyone likes different things. :)

I had let my membership lapse, but I recently joined again because one of my quilting heroes (Irena Bluhm) did a show for Quilt It!, which is on QNNtv.

I like all the videos and the access to the digital version of Easy Quilts - and the 10% discount on all Joann purchases pays the membership cost a couple of times a year.

On the down side, the web site is poorly organized and frustrating to navigate - it's so clunky and labyrinthine, I don't even try to access some pages.

But, once you figure out how to find the pages that interest you, there is a huge amount of instruction and patterns on the site.

Yes I got my charter membership letter as well. Don't let it fool you. I'm going to spend my dollars somewhere else.

This is how I felt as well. I just received the mailer last week and it looked too good to be true so I figured it probably was and took a pass on it.
