Has anyone made the Americana Sampler that this book uses as the basis for its teaching blocks?
A lot of people recommend this book and I just wonder if anyone has done the complete sampler.

I have never made it, and decided to google it. It is a very lovely quilt.

I have the book but have not made the sampler yet. Have learned to make a lot of the blocks for other things. I hope to one day make that quilt, because I love it.

This was one of the first books I purchased some years ago now. Very helpful to me and I still refer to it now and then. The sampler is beautiful - one of those that I'd like to do "some day" .... LOL

Aah! Never thought to google it! Here are some ladies who have made it: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_wog_k-FvkQ...1600/photo.jpg

It is lovely. Maybe I'll work a chapter at a time!

This sums it up nicely from my standpoint. Meant to do it a long time ago but other projects kept coming up. :)

Started this quilt, didn't finished. It was set up at a local quilt shop. The teacher showed how to put the block together for $1.00 a block; or week. We could then either purchase the fabric kit or the store would cut from the bolt what was needed for that block. Our $1.00 gave us the print out of each singular block, and we watched as she sewed the block. It was fun to attend. Several quilts were completed . Each was lovely. Some were made using the kitted fabric, others were mixed using kitted and fabric from stashes. That shop was sold and purchased by another, then sold again. Ran for 5 years [having the sampler quilt on display, when completed]. And closed for about 2 years now. I keep looking back and thinking, I NEED TO PICK THIS BACK UP AGAIN. It still appeals to me; but I now have nicer fabrics I could add. Thanks for the memories!
