I don't know about you, but I don't normally use a saw and hammer when I quilt. Hahaha

when i took a barn quilt tour, one house did not have a barn. but they had a double sided 'barn quilt' sign in the front yard and it said [their name] quilting studio underneath

I know what you mean by the signs. There are many more for shops then for studios. I've seen several quilt signs at craft shows.

my kids were 'on my nerves' the other day so I put a sign up on my quilt room door - AS A JOKE - that says BUG OFF :) They made comments on it while I was inside :)

The old adage was putting your shingle out. That would be cute for a "cottage" industry.

I've seen some wrought iron work holding out sign names.. and even quilt blocks hanging from the wrought iron.. but not anything quite as ornate as the sign photo you posted.
