I actually have 2 of them. One for the house and one in the car for trips to stores. I use many of the functions. I like that it factors in seam allowances, extra yardage for backing that gets drawn up in quilting, how many strips and yardage for bindings, borders. Guess Im just lazy and not good at math, but I really like it. Comes with a DVD to show how to use all the functions. And I use it for just a regular calculator!

I didn't realize there was an official fabricalc app. I have the Robert Kaufman one.

I got one as a gift and use it as a regular calculator - once I opened it up it seemed like more trouble than it was worth. On the other hand I didn't pay for it and since it is larger than my other calculators I seem to be able to find it easier.

I have one my husband bought me, and I use it all the time. Does alot of great things, came with a book, and a compartment in the back holds a mini version of the book, You just have to learn to use it.

I found a free app for my Ipad that calculates binding length, backing size, quarter square triangles, etc. I use it every time I am ready to finish a quilt. It calculates everything I need.

I use mine quite a bit to figure out borders and such, find it very valuable. I would not toss it
