I have the iPhone app, too, but my good friend here on the board will figure out how much yardage I need on her same app. I am calculator illiterate. I can't do math so the calculator isn't helpful. I one time was able to find out how many strips of fabric I needed for binding, all by myself. But my friend is so good to me that she always figures out what I need. Everyone needs a friend like mine. She's perfect!!

It is a wonderful little tool. I worked in fabric stores for many years and know how to figure all the different yardages, but the caucalulator is so fast and never makes an error. Just give it the correct information! It is not difficult, just watch the videos mentioned on a previous reply. You will love it.

Probably in the minority, but I never figure out what I need ahead of time. I just get a lot, so it's no wonder I end up with 10 yards of fabric to make a lap size quilt (and that doesn't include the backing because I like Fat Backs). What can I say. I fall in love with certain fabrics/certain colors and never want to be without.
Yesterday I was in a LQS and someone came in and got 6 inches of fabric. She said she screwed something up in her cutting. I've never bought only 6 inches of anything!

Do any of you use the Quilter's Fabricalc? I purchased one
YEARS ago when Joann's had a 50% off sale PLUS they allowed
for a coupon to be used (during the holidays).
So I am wanting to know is how often do you use this calculator
to figure out yardage and such?
Reason I am asking is because I am at a crossroads on if I want
to keep it and try to use it or do I want to get rid of it.
