I just don't think like that.
The only way I'd make a trip to the fabric store to buy that little is if that was all there was left and I needed it. I would have bought at least a half yard, some thread, a new quilt book or magazine, probably more fabric, and asked what is new? LOL

My kids have had projects where they just needed a little so they bought 1/8 yard or something. They were paying so they didn't want to pay any more than they had to. I've bought small amounts of fabrics that were a specialty type fabric for a certain project. Especially if it's something like $15 a yard and I only need a few inches. No way I'm spending that much on something I'll probably never use again.
