I am always looking for people from Florida. Seems that most of the qilters live in the midwest or northwest.
I live on the east coast of FLorida in Delray Beach, so I think you are abot 2- 2 1/2 hours from me. THere is someone who has become a very good friend (although we have never met) and she lives in Merritt Island.which I believe is closer to the Orlando area, or near the Space Shuttle area. There is anolter woman who also lives in Orlando, which I know is almost 190 miles from me. Would be nice if we could all meet somewhere for a nice retreat.
I am a full time resident, and wish that the snowbirds would find somewhere else to be, as our roads and stores are so overcrowded that it is frustrating.

I have lived in Fort Lauderdale since 1981, originally from California. Since we sold our business & retired 3 yrs ago, DH & I became what we call sunbirds. We enjoy our "tough" winters and travel North when its too hot here to see straight. I agree there are not a lot of true quilters living in southeast Florida. We have 2 LQS in our entire county!

I am originally from Florida. Born in Miami, raised in Brevard County (central east coast). I live in NC right now but my heart will always be in Fl. If you are ever in Rockledge, check out the Quilt Place. A great shop. Really nice people.

I've been a full-time Floridian since 1964. Three children born in St. Pete. One still lives in Pinellas Park. One lives in Tampa near where he works (he was born in Morton Plant in Clearwater). My daughter lives in Bushnell - Sumter County. We all lived in Brooksville for many years. My Dad's in an Assisted Living place in Spring Hill and I visit him every week. I am currently in Leesburg - Lake County. My other son is in NC. He moved there to be near his wife's parents. My body doesn't like extreme heat or extreme cold so I'm just glad we have a/c!

Have I got a deal for you! Since you are visiting your dad every week in Spring Hill, visit him on the 2d Wednesday of the month and try our guild to see if you would like to be part of us. For more details visit www.ncquilters.org. The first visit is free and we would love to see your show and tell.
