I'm 37 and love to Quilt. I've been doing it for about 5 years. Some of the quilt stores have classes for young kids to get started, I think its a great idea. I've had friends tell me that I'd make a great grandma. I also enjoy crochet. tee hee

I am 58 granny of 8 wonderful grandchildren. My 11 year old grandchild just won 2nd place in the parish fair for her quilt top. It took her over a year to finish it. It was placed in the adult section because there was not any other children with a quilting project. SO PROUD OF HER!!

I am nearing 65 and I think any young person who does not want to learn this awesome art form will grow old before their time. Where else do generations of women (and sometimes men) lose all sense of age and speak the same language. Sorry ladies, for butting in but, I think we are just ladies and gents with a wonderful life, no matter what our age.

I am 35 and a fairly new quilter, but am also president of our local guild. It's hard trying to sneak some time in between my 2 kids, 3 and 5, but I love it! I joined the guild and later agreed to president to remove the stigma that you are old if you quilt. So far so good, we have had several under 40 quilters join!

:) Not under 40 but enjoy quilting. I began when I was 15 and have quilted through the years. When I was younger I could not do as much due to raising my 2 wonderful son's. Now I enjoy every chance I get because the boy's are grown and the Grandkid's know when I close the door it is maw-maw's time to rest and quilt. Young or old it is a way to let your mind have a break from everything else around us. Enjoy

    38.

My 12 year old daughter is making a scrapbook of all of my quilts. As I was compiling photos I realized I had made over 75 quilts (been quilting since I was 25), so I decided I'll try to complete 100 before I turn 40.

18 quilts and 14 months to go!!!

Thanks for starting this topic. What fun!

I "tied" quilts in my childhood, made my first REAL quilt when I was 15. anything with a needle and thread I know how to do (exept knit)

its really hard to be a mom of young kids AND quilt! baby quilts, baby blankets, baby, baby, and more baby! I did acomplish ALOT of hand quilting when I was pregnant on bed rest :D

I wish I had more time... maybe I will pick it back up again when 50

hi! I am 28 and started soon after i moved out of my parents house....around 19.

My grandmother always made such wonderful quilts and when mine got ruined (stupid sister's dog), I didnt feel it right to ask her to replace it so instead i asked her to help ME make one. it was hideous, but iused it until it wore out too, and i got better, then it got put in the basement...and ruined. Lesson learned.

But i do take pictures of ALL my projects, and have started making kind of a scrapbook for them. Funny how one hobby turns into many hobbies!!!!
